Vampire Lift

Although terms like Vampire Lift, Dracula Lift, Dracula Therapy, and Plasma Therapy may seem a bit unfamiliar at first, they all refer to a novel method for treating wrinkles and restoring volume. Of course, this has nothing to do with the legendary creatures from movies and literature. Vampire Lifting is one of the so-called gentle therapies that are performed without surgical intervention. The main component of the treatment is the patient’s own blood plasma, which promotes skin regeneration.

What is Vampire Lifting?

Vampire Lifting is a skin tightening method developed in the U.S. The term was coined by the media and celebrities after several Hollywood stars, such as Kim Kardashian, had their photos taken during the treatment and published the images under the hashtag #VampireLift. In aesthetic medicine, the procedure is known by the technical terms PRP therapy and autologous blood therapy. PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. The platelet concentrate used in this anti-aging treatment serves as a source of important messenger substances. These messenger substances support tissue regeneration.

A vampire lift:

  • Renews the skin’s structure,
  • Restores lost volume,
  • Smooths fine lines, and
  • Gives the skin a radiant appearance (glow effect).

Applications for a Vampire Lift

In general, PRP therapy can be used for rejuvenation and regeneration in almost all areas of the body. Along with wrinkle treatment on the face, neck, hands, and décolleté, promoting hair growth and scar correction are the most common applications of autologous blood therapy.

The PRP procedure is suitable for, among other things:

  • Wrinkle treatment and volume restoration in the face
  • Reduction of dark circles under the eyes
  • Wrinkle filling on the neck
  • Rejuvenation of the backs of the hands
  • Wrinkle treatment and skin tightening on the neck
  • Hair growth and regeneration on the scalp
  • Skin tightening and improvement of striae (stretch marks)
  • Wound healing and improvement of surgical scars
  • Skin tightening and scar smoothing for acne scars

Before the Plasma Lift

An essential component of every aesthetic treatment at Dr. Bravin-Jumpertz’s practice is the individual consultation between the patient and the doctor. The focus of this personal consultation is on the patient’s motivation and their expectations regarding the treatment outcome. The expert compares these wishes with the medical possibilities offered by minimally invasive therapies. Based on a thorough examination, it is determined whether PRP treatment is appropriate in the specific case or whether another method of wrinkle treatment is recommended. In addition, patients receive detailed information about the procedure, pre- and post-treatment care, and the possible risks associated with a Vampire Lift.

Questions and Answers

The Vampire Lifting procedure

In PRP Vampire Lifting, only the patient’s own blood plasma is used. Therefore, a small amount of blood is first drawn from the patient. The blood is then specially processed to separate the platelets from the red and white blood cells. The platelet-rich plasma obtained is injected directly under the skin of the treatment area using a fine needle. Similar to the wound healing process, the body’s own blood plasma signals to the body that new tissue is needed at the corresponding site. As a result, the skin structure is renewed, thereby rejuvenating the appearance. The treatment is barely painful, so experience has shown that anesthesia is not necessary. An anesthetic ointment can be applied to sensitive areas upon request.

What should you be aware of after the Vampire Lift?

Experience shows that patients are immediately presentable in public after the Vampire Lift using their own blood and can leave the clinic after a short recovery period. In isolated cases, the injected areas may still be slightly reddened and swollen after the PRP method; hematomas are rare. These symptoms are generally harmless and subside completely on their own within three days at the latest. Regularly cooling the treated areas further supports the healing process. In some cases, it is advisable to avoid strenuous physical activity for a few days after the Vampire Lift. Additionally, strong UV exposure from intense sunbathing or visits to the tanning salon should be avoided.

Are there any before-and-after impressions of the Vampire Lift?

Unfortunately, before-and-after photo comparisons of the Vampire Lift are not permitted to be published in Germany. However, during an individual consultation, patients can view corresponding before-and-after photos of the Vampire Lift upon request, allowing them to get a first impression of the treatment’s potential.

The results of autologous blood therapy

Initial results of the Vampire Lift are visible immediately after treatment. Over the course of the following days and weeks, the effect of the PRP autologous blood therapy builds up continuously and reaches its peak after about one to three months. The duration of the PRP procedure’s effects varies from patient to patient and ranges between six and twelve months. With regular use, long-lasting results can be achieved. In the initial phase of autologous blood therapy, it is recommended to schedule several injection treatments at four-week intervals. Later on, an annual touch-up is often sufficient to maintain the effects of the Vampire Lift.

Can the Vampire Lift replace a facelift?

With regular PRP treatment, even deep wrinkles can be significantly reduced and skin texture comprehensively improved. Depending on the diagnosis and desired outcome, pronounced wrinkles, sagging facial areas, and severe volume loss can sometimes only be corrected with a surgical procedure such as a facelift. During the consultation, the experienced physician will provide detailed information on which treatment method will yield which results in your specific case.

Possible risks of the Vampire Lift

Since the Vampire Lift uses the body’s own substances, the treatment is generally very well tolerated and involves virtually no allergic reactions or rejection. Normal and harmless side effects of autologous blood therapy include mild pain, redness, swelling, and bruising, which usually subside completely within a few days. The risk of infection, which is inherent in any injection, is minimized by adhering to applicable safety and hygiene measures.

How much does a Vampire Lift cost?

It is not possible to set flat rates for aesthetic procedures (both surgical and minimally invasive). At the Dr. Bravin-Jumpertz practice, each patient receives a treatment plan that is individually tailored to their initial condition and preferences. Therefore, the cost of a Vampire Lift may vary from patient to patient. On average, patients should expect prices starting at 200 euros, depending on their specific condition; for larger skin areas, higher costs may apply. Information regarding costs and financing options will be discussed during the personal consultation.
