What is HiFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound)?
HiFU is one of the modern methods of aesthetic medicine and offers an excellent alternative to permanent makeup. The ultrasound lifting we offer enables facial tightening, skin rejuvenation, and improvement of skin structure without the need for surgery. Instead, the rejuvenating effects are produced by highly focused ultrasound.
How does the ultrasound lifting work?
The highly focused ultrasound pulses penetrate specifically into the deep tissue layers and stimulate the body’s own collagen production as well as new cell formation. As a result, the skin gradually becomes firmer and tighter. With HiFU, the skin is essentially repaired from the inside.
Who is this non-surgical lifting suitable for?
This gentle lifting treatment is generally suitable for all patients whose skin has lost firmness and contour and who choose not to undergo surgery. Although the method is not entirely comparable to surgical intervention, it can certainly achieve effective results that make the face or body look younger. One of the major advantages of this cosmetic procedure is that there is no downtime.

Questions and Answers
HiFU is suitable for treating wrinkles on the face, neck, and décolleté. It can also treat sagging skin around the eyes, eyebrows, or so-called jowls. Furthermore, HiFU treatment is popular for contouring the jawline and chin. However, the HiFU lift can also be used on the legs and abdomen without surgery to achieve a harmonious tightening in the treated area. Furthermore, the HiFU lift can be used to achieve permanent hair removal.
Blood-thinning medications should not be taken for about ten days prior to treatment. Additionally, patients should not apply any creams or makeup to the treatment areas immediately before the procedure.
First, the treatment areas are determined during an individual consultation and then cleaned and disinfected. A special anesthetic ointment ensures that the procedure is virtually painless. The areas are then coated with an ultrasound gel. HiFU utilizes V-MAX, a cutting-edge technology in which a smooth ultrasound probe is gently guided over the skin. A special light ensures that the collagen fibers can be precisely targeted and hit via an ultrasound image. As a result, new collagen forms.
In Germany, it is prohibited to publish images showing HiFU before-and-after results. Therefore, unfortunately, no files can be provided on this page. Patients can view a HydraFacial before-and-after comparison upon request during a personal consultation.
Immediately after the treatment, patients can leave the clinic and resume their normal daily activities. Downtime is generally not expected. Our patients in Berlin receive a serum containing enzymes that are important for the skin. The final results become apparent after about three to six months. Patients are generally presentable shortly after the procedure, even though symptoms such as swelling or sensitivity to touch may occur.
Even a year after treatment, patients still have fresh collagen that keeps the skin looking young and fresh. The exact duration of the effect may vary. In most cases, the results remain visible for two to three years, and in some cases even up to five years.
In many cases, a single treatment is sufficient to initiate the regeneration processes and achieve the desired effect. If necessary, a second treatment may be recommended after a few months to optimize the results. This is decided on an individual basis.
Mild to moderate pain, slight redness, temporary swelling, or a hypersensitivity reaction of the skin may occur, which usually subside within two weeks. In addition, the regeneration of the skin layers may manifest as a tingling sensation. In rare cases, mild bruising and numbness are also possible.
The HiFU procedure is not recommended in cases of acute infections or injuries, chronic skin conditions, an increased tendency to bleed, cardiovascular diseases, and blood clotting disorders. The procedure is also not recommended for individuals with a tendency to scar, those currently undergoing radiation or chemotherapy, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
