Liquid Lifting – Lifting with Sculptra®
As the skin naturally loses elasticity and moisture, wrinkles begin to appear and the contours of certain facial areas become less defined. This process becomes visible early on, particularly in the face, neck, and décolleté. The first unwanted fine lines can appear as early as age 30 and deepen over time. Liquid Lifting with Sculptra® tightens the skin and gives it a fresher, more radiant, and rejuvenated appearance. Patients do not have to undergo surgery or endure a long recovery period.
What is Liquid Lifting?
The term Liquid Lifting encompasses various methods of wrinkle injection. These include, for example, wrinkle injections with hyaluronic acid. Liquid Lifting with Sculptra® provides an effective lifting effect. Sculptra® is synthetically produced and contains poly-L-lactic acid. This substance has been used safely in medicine for over 30 years and is, among other things, a component of the threads used in thread lifts. Since poly-L-lactic acid is biocompatible, it can be completely broken down by the body. Liquid lifting with Sculptra® is generally very well tolerated.

For which areas is Liquid Lifting suitable?
Liquid Lifting results in a significantly fresher and more vibrant appearance by plumping up wrinkles perceived as bothersome and correcting volume deficits. Among other things, Liquid Lifting with Sculptra® can be used for the following treatments:
- Smoothing nasolabial folds (between the nostrils and the corners of the mouth)
- Smoothing of corner-of-the-mouth wrinkles (marionette lines)
- Volume restoration in sunken facial areas (e.g., midface, cheekbones, temples)
- Contouring of the chin
- Restoration of a firmer lower face
- Filling of the décolleté area (smoothing of moderate and deep vertical wrinkles)
- Correction of scars
How Sculptra® works
During treatment with Sculptra®, the aesthetic medicine specialist injects poly-L-lactic acid into the deep layers of the dermis. There, the product initially causes an immediate increase in volume and fills in wrinkles. One reason for this is the water contained in the solution. This water is absorbed by the body within a few days after the Liquid Lift, causing the volumizing effect to diminish slightly. Then the second phase of treatment with Sculptra® begins: the body’s own collagen production is stimulated. This results in a natural and long-lasting regeneration of connective tissue, effectively correcting wrinkles, volume loss, and changes in contour.

Questions and Answers
During a personal consultation, the doctor assesses whether the patient meets the criteria for Liquid Lifting with Sculptra®. She will also discuss the reasons why the patient has decided to undergo the treatment and which signs of aging they find bothersome. Furthermore, the specialist will explain the specific treatment process, individual pre- and post-treatment care, and the potential risks of treatment with Sculptra®.
Special preparation for Liquid Lifting is generally not necessary. However, to minimize the risk of bruising, patients should avoid taking blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin) for about one to two weeks prior to the Liquid Lift.
Unfortunately, due to Germany’s Medicines Act, we are not permitted to publish before-and-after photos of Liquid Lifting on this page. Interested patients are welcome to view anonymized before-and-after image comparisons of Sculptra® treatment during a non-binding personal consultation.
On the day of treatment, the doctor cleans and disinfects the treatment areas and marks the injection sites for the Liquid Lift. Using a fine needle, the product (Sculptra®) is injected into the skin. On sensitive areas of the skin, an anesthetic cream can be applied at the patient’s request, or the affected areas can be numbed using local anesthesia. No hospital stay is necessary. Patients can leave the clinic after just a short recovery period.
Immediately after Liquid Lifting with Sculptra®, the treated areas appear plumped and tightened. At first, they may still be slightly reddened and partially swollen. In rare cases, bruising may form around the injection sites after Liquid Lifting. Experience shows that the redness, swelling, and bruising fade on their own within a few days. Exercise and saunas should be avoided for about four days. Otherwise, patients can immediately resume their normal personal and professional routines. Regular facial massages help distribute the product evenly beneath the skin, thereby optimizing the results.
Lifting Complications and unwanted side effects are rare with Liquid Lifting using Sculptra®. In isolated cases, temporary pain, redness, swelling, or bruising may occur. Thanks to appropriate hygiene and safety standards, the risk of infection is extremely low. Furthermore, when the treatment is performed by a specially trained and experienced aesthetic medicine physician, uneven results or nodule formation generally do not occur.
- In cases of significant excess skin or severe tissue laxity
- In cases of hypersensitivity to the materials used
- In cases of infection or inflammation in the injection area (e.g., herpes, severe acne)
- In cases of a tendency toward keloids (excessive scarring)
- In cases of an existing blood clotting disorder
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding
For minor volume defects, a single treatment with Sculptra® is often sufficient. Depending on the desired result and the size of the treatment area, additional sessions may be recommended for optimal results. The exact duration of the effect varies from patient to patient. On average, the effect of Sculptra® lasts 18 months. Some patients even report that the positive results last up to two years or longer. If desired, the Liquid Lifting procedure can be easily repeated once the effects have worn off.
When it comes to the question of how much a Liquid Facelift will cost, no flat rate can be set. The price range depends on the initial condition and the desired outcome. Every treatment at the Dr. Bravin-Jumpertz practice is individually tailored to the patient. Furthermore, the type of anesthesia and the scope of the treatment influence the cost. During a personal consultation, the expert will be happy to provide information about prices and financing options.
