Wrinkle fillers
Youthfulness, attractiveness, and vitality are often associated with healthy, smooth, and radiant skin. Starting as early as age 25, the body’s natural collagen production begins to decline, and the skin starts to age. At first, this process is not yet visible to the naked eye. As we age past 30, the first fine lines often appear, which deepen in the following years depending on genetic predisposition and personal lifestyle habits.
To naturally and effectively address wrinkles and age-related volume loss, wrinkle fillers using hyaluronic acid have become the standard of care. Whether on the face, neck, décolleté, or hands, this so-called filler treatment can create a rejuvenated and fresh appearance.

Wrinkle filler Berlin: reasons for wrinkle filler
As part of the natural aging process, the skin loses its firmness and elasticity. As a result, wrinkles form and certain areas of the face (e.g., the cheeks) may sag. While some wrinkles are worn with pride and highlight an individual’s unique beauty, others lead to a tired appearance that often makes those affected look older than they are. If gravity-induced wrinkles and loss of volume cause significant dissatisfaction and a negative body image, hyaluronic acid injections can help restore a fresher and more vibrant appearance.
The formation of wrinkles is partly genetic. However, it is also influenced by the following external factors:
- Increased UV exposure (from the sun or tanning beds)
- Cold
- Heat
- Smoking
- Alcohol consumption
- Unhealthy diet
- Stress
- Diets
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the human body. It plays a role in many important functions. For example, as an essential component of connective tissue, it ensures skin elasticity. Thanks to its ability to bind large amounts of moisture, it keeps the skin looking firm and wrinkle-free. Hyaluronic acid also binds water in the eye, thereby enabling the moisture film that protects and cleanses the eye. Hyaluronic acid is also found in muscles and joints, where it helps prevent friction during joint movement, among other things. Certain cellular processes would not occur without hyaluronic acid. These include, for example, cell division and cell migration.
Which wrinkles can be smoothed out with fillers?
Generally, two types of wrinkles can be distinguished: orthostatic wrinkles and expression wrinkles. Orthostatic wrinkles become visible due to natural skin aging and the effects of gravity. They can be safely and effectively treated with filler injections and smoothed out accordingly.
Typical orthostatic wrinkles include:
- Nasolabial folds (between the nostrils and the corners of the mouth)
- Smoker’s lines
- Drooping corners of the mouth (“marionette lines”)
- Sleep lines
- Wrinkles on the neck and décolleté
Expressive wrinkles, on the other hand, deepen due to repeated strain on the facial muscles and become active and visible with certain facial expressions. They can be reduced with botulinum toxin treatment (Botox®).
Typical expression lines include:
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- Thinking or worry lines on the forehead
- Crow’s feet around the eyes
- Laugh lines around the mouth and eyes
- Bunny lines on the sides of the nose
- Prominent platysma bands on the neck
The benefits of minimally invasive wrinkle treatment
For some time now, a trend toward minimally invasive aesthetic treatments has been emerging in aesthetic medicine. This is because a healthy, younger, and radiant appearance does not always immediately require extensive surgical intervention.
Patients particularly appreciate the following aspects of minimally invasive wrinkle injections:
- No surgery and no associated risks
- Shorter treatment duration
- No anesthesia
- No scars
- Immediately visible results
- No downtime or, at most, very minimal downtime
- Use of natural and safe materials
- Healthy, natural results
- Comparatively low treatment costs

Questions and Answers
Based on experience, patients do not need to take any special measures before a wrinkle filler treatment with hyaluronic acid. To minimize the risk of bruising, medications and vitamin supplements that affect blood clotting should be avoided for about ten days prior to the filler treatment. This includes, for example, aspirin.
Prior to the procedure, a detailed consultation takes place with the physician at Dr. Bravin-Jumpertz’s practice. During this consultation, the experienced specialist provides information about the various hyaluronic acid products and conducts a thorough examination of the patient.
Based on the findings, it can be determined whether hyaluronic acid injections will achieve the desired result or whether another method of wrinkle treatment (e.g., botulinum toxin Botox®, thread lift, vampire lift) is recommended. In addition, patients receive detailed information about the filler treatment procedure and potential risks.
For legal reasons, a photo comparison of wrinkle filler before and after results may not be published in Germany. Therefore, unfortunately, no image files are provided on this page. However, to get an initial idea of the treatment options, patients can view before-and-after photos of wrinkle filler during their individual consultation at the practice upon request.
On the day of treatment, the experienced physician marks the areas to be treated and disinfects the corresponding area. Subsequently, several deposits of hyaluronic acid are injected directly under the skin at small intervals using a fine needle. The wrinkle filler procedure plumps up the wrinkle from the inside out and compensates for volume deficits. This also allows individual facial features to be harmoniously contoured. The duration of the wrinkle filler treatment varies from patient to patient and depends on the initial condition, the type and extent of the injection, and the desired result. Smaller injections take only a few minutes, while other treatments with hyaluronic acid may take up to half an hour. Anesthesia is usually not necessary. When performing wrinkle injections on particularly sensitive areas of the skin, an anesthetic cream can be applied at the patient’s request to make the area less sensitive to pain.
Immediately after the wrinkle injection, patients are usually ready to go out in public again. In rare cases, possible side effects such as mild swelling, bruising, or redness may occur. After a maximum of three days, no signs of the injection therapy will be visible. Facial massages and other forms of stimulation of the treated areas should be avoided for a few days, as otherwise the hyaluronic acid may not distribute itself in the tissue as desired. Saunas and tanning beds should also be avoided during this time.
After about four to eight months, the body has broken down the hyaluronic acid through natural metabolic processes. The effect of the wrinkle treatment also wears off as a result. However, for long-lasting results, the hyaluronic acid treatment can be refreshed at any time.
Hyaluronic acid preparations are synthetically produced but closely resemble the natural hyaluronic acid found in the human body. The hyaluronic acid used in wrinkle injections is therefore a natural, biodegradable filler.
Theoretically, treatment with permanent fillers (e.g., containing silicone) would also be conceivable. The artificial components remain in the tissue and produce a lasting effect. However, the potential risks of permanent fillers are difficult or impossible to assess.
Negative tissue changes can still occur even years later. At the Dr. Bravin-Jumpertz practice, only biodegradable, safe, and CE-certified hyaluronic acid products (e.g., Juvéderm®, Perfectha Subskin®, Princess®, Restylane®, or Teosyal®) are used.
Wrinkle filler injections with hyaluronic acid carry virtually no risks or unwanted side effects. They are generally well-tolerated, as the product used is similar to the hyaluronic acid naturally found in the body. If in doubt, allergies and intolerances can be tested prior to the filler treatment. Minor side effects such as slight swelling, bruising, and redness subside on their own within a few days. Incorrectly administered products or improper dosing can lead to lumps. Therefore, injections should only be performed by a trained and experienced physician.
More than just smoothing wrinkles – additional treatment options with hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid filler injections are not limited to the facial area. Rather, the method can also smooth the neck, creating a harmonious transition from the face to the décolletage. Of course, age-related wrinkles in the décolletage area can also be reduced. In addition to the face, the backs of the hands are often affected by wrinkles at an early age. Here, filler injections can help achieve a rejuvenated and healthy appearance.
Another area of application for hyaluronic acid treatment is lip augmentation. Full, curved lips are often seen as a symbol of sensuality, youthfulness, and attractiveness. If you desire fuller lips, the volume can be increased using hyaluronic acid, and the lips can be given the desired contour.
